Icarus X USA 2016 at the Endless Foot Drag Fly-in

The IcarusX series is about to launch in the USA. A condensed three day Icarus Trophy-shaped slap to the face. These are your details:

WHERE: Starts and ends at the Endless Foot Drag Fly-in, Arkansas

WHEN: 26th - 28th May

PILOTS BRIEFING: 25th May at 3pm

RACE LAUNCH: Sunrise, Thursday 26th May

RACE FINISH & PRIZEGIVING: Sunset, Saturday 28th May

RACE COURSE: It's a 170 mile way-pointed course.

The course has been designed so the race can run even if weather conditions are less than ideal. If conditions fluctuate the race will go ahead.

ENTRY
Fill out the pre-registration form on the Icarus X-Series website.

Entry fee is $150 payable in cash at the pilot briefing.

This includes use of the satellite tracker, flight following for the duration of the race, weather updates, the start and finish lines, prize-giving, trophies for the winners, and we'll thrown in some free beer.

Pilots will race in one of the two categories: Adventure and Race Division.

The difference in the course distance is only 25miles, but that small-seeming number masks a world of difficulty. Race Class pilots can only travel by means of flight and only use open access support. Adventure Division can make land moves to avoid bad weather systems and can use pre-arranged support. The divisions will be decided at the Pilot Briefing on 25th May, taking into account pilots' preferences and skill level.
